Lamwaka Bracelet

SKU: N/A Category: Tags: ,

The Lamwaka is a unique, four strand design! The Lamwaka bracelet has three strands of tiny paper beads in a variety of color combinations. This is paired with a strand of chain. Each bracelet has a clasp to connect behind your wrist! Be sure to pair the Lamwaka bracelet with a matching or coordinating color combination in our earrings and necklaces.

The paper beads are made from individually cut strips of paper, carefully measured and cut with precision by dedicated workers. The paper is then tightly rolled and dipped in varnish. Each bead is carefully strung to create a unique design. The independent women who create these pieces are changing the lives and circumstances for their families with these fair-trade jewelry pieces.

The Lamwaka is named after one of our artisans, Lamwaka Oliver. Lamwaka is her Acholi name, followed by her Christian or English name, Oliver. Each piece of jewelry has a tag with the name and photo of the woman who made each item! We encourage you to head over to the "Life Beads Ladies" tab to read more about the women and their families! Thank you for supporting the employment and empowerment of these women.
